This includes working alongside psychology, speech and language therapy, counselling, occupational therapy and other alternative therapies. In short positive partnerships are vital to achieving a consistent person-centred approach to planning and similarly goal setting and supporting children to celebrate their achievements.
Care
Children with complex needs often struggle to communicate with and relate to other people, and to make sense of the world around them.
We support and care for children with emotional, physical, and learning disabilities by providing personalized care and a detailed understanding of a child’s disability or difficulty.
Our complex needs home is in Durham.
We support each child’s learning, understanding and choice-making, enabling each child to develop new skills
Our achievements are through a therapeutic approach that maximises young people’s strengths, abilities and interests.
Focusing on communication, integration, and emotional and physical well-being. Ensuring each child has an opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our Aims and Objectives:
To provide the highest standard of support in a safe, positive, person centred way, so that each child is empowered to achieve the maximum potential.
To ensure each child has a personal education plan which addresses the individual needs and provides positive educational opportunities made to maximise their learning potential.
Promoting equality and diversity ensuring children are not negatively stigmatised or excluded.
Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are personalised and regularly reviewed.
To ensure children’s health needs are properly identified, met and mentored.
Facilitating a sense of belonging for children helping them understand that staff will not give up on them and this is their long term home.
To work closely with important people in the child’s life including family, social workers and universal and specialist services to ensure that the right support is provided at the right time.
To focus on a child’s strengths, interest, hobbies and hopes.
To support children to have continuous relationships with people important to them and to help them to develop further trusting relationships with others.
